Sorry, William....I phrased my original comment poorly.  I was trying to
state the opposite.  I think we sometimes "canonize" GG a bit too much and
this idea that celibacy would somehow make him more God-like or more
"pure" as an artist just doesn't cut it for me.  A chacun son gout 
(YMMV)...
