I was informed to find a photo of the 30th street studio
(207 [not 270] East 30th Street, NYC)
in the following book:

Ashley Kahn,
_The Kind of Blue: The Making of the Miles Davis Masterpiece_
(Cambridge, Mass.: Da Capo Press, 2001), p.76.

You will find a detailed description on the studio as well,
and you will also find a good deal of information on
the histry of Columbia Records.

It actually is an amazing book focusing on a single album of a great artist.
If only such a book on GG's GV would exist!
