Ahhh, really!?

So are you saying that both HIP and GG's, let's call it pre-HIP, style
would be as acceptable to the original composers and subsequent musical
thinkers?

For me, it depends on what day it is!, the *concern* changes so quickly in
my mind!  And that's why I asked the group.

 I certainly wouldn't wish that GG had been committed to any other
*style(s)*, but I wonder what the composer would have thought.  And then I
think, well he was beyond them anyway, having the benefit of the many
intervening years!  And that leads to the question, can an artist find
(significant) things in the score of a master work that the composer didn't
even know was there?  YES!  That's why I continue to try to collect
everything that GG (for one) recorded!  Good, bad or indifferent.

Am I misunderstanding HIP (or GG)?
