Ooooooh Paul, that's a tough one. You place Woolfy on the same plate as
Grieg? I don't think I could support that. You feel that most of
Woolfies piano pieces are b-level? That is more like a GG view, eh? I
honestly don't know how to respond to your point. If you feel that
Woolfies piano pieces were b-level, who then living at his time was
writing a-level solo piano stuff? Second question: which of his piano
(solo) works would you consider a-level?
I enjoy Grieg's piano pieces and have a book of them at home. They are
not all that easy to play but they are, like most of his music, very
tuneful. Reminds me of the rivers of tunes you hear in Dvorak.
