Re: [F_MINOR] F_MINOR Digest - 27 Dec 2004 to 4 Jan 2005 (#2005-1)

A strange controversy is developing here...

Although I can't remember any occurrence of this term in my readings, I find
it quite cute. Since inner movements refer to central movements in the
sonata form, of which one is usually slow and therefore focuses on your most
intimate, or "inner" emotions, there is a kind of coherence. It also reminds
me of the German "innig" loved by Schumann (2nd piece of the Kreisleriana
for example).

Can anyone imagine some more connotations ?

Let's not be too fussy about musical terms, especially when there is no
well-designed, specific word. The essential is to convey a meaning. It's
like commeting on literature; using wonderful greek words for figures of
speech is less important than explaining what the figures themselves are
here for, what the author conveys through them.

Cheers

Jean-Christophe
