Re: GG: Gould's francophonie...

Thanks, Pat.

Anybody out there heard any good Gould lately? ;-)

I've had the pleasure of listening to Lipatti's version of Bach's First
Partita for keyboard, both the studio
and live versions, and I recommend them highly. Sometimes we talk about
possible sources of inspiration for Gould
and Tureck gets mentioned often, but perhaps Lipatti should be brought up as
well, but I have no idea if Gould
ever heard of note of Lipatti's playing.

I feel the need building up in me to listen to Gould's Schoenberg. Anybody
else ever have that feeling?
I might even make it all the way through the Book of the Hanging Gardens at
one shot. ;-) Wish me luck,

Jim
