Angela Hewitt

Angela Hewitt is a terrific pianist. She was born in Ottawa and studied
there with, inter al., Jean Paul Sevilla (himself a marvelous pianist
specializing in French repertoire). She has also lived in Paris.

After winning the Bach competition in 1985, she made a DG cd of various
Bach pieces (this was part of the prize). She has since recorded Bach for
Hyperion and CBC. While she is an excellent Bach player, I believe her her
greatest strength is in Romantic reperoire. Her Schumann is fabulous.
