Danielle,
I have a CD called "Vingt Regards sur
l'Enfant-Jesus" on the ABC Classics label. The booklet talks about Olivier
Messian's association of music with color. Apparently Messian claimed to
rarely see single colors, but combinations of quite disparate shades and
hues. According to the booklet an artist called Blanc-Gatti painted one of
Messian's early works and the composer verified that the colors were the ones he
associated with the composition himself. Blanc-Gatti had a condition
called synaesthesia where the senses of hearing and sight are known to be
interconnected.
If you are interested, the booklet says Messian's
writings include many references to the color associations of Vingt
Regards.

written.

be so kind a listing of those composers who have definitively stated key x
