Buff stop on piano

From this report from Newport RI, it looks as if Gavrilov recently tried
to make a buff stop on a piano using a piece of felt.  (Yeah, been there,
tried that with a piece of weatherstripping...it does give an interesting
sound as it takes the piano down to one string per note instead of
three.  But it's not the same effect as the una corda pedal.)
