The more books you read and videos you watch about Glenn Gould, the more you
feel you're learning the Legend rather than the Person. I think "32 short
Films" picked up on most of the Legends and left the Person as mysterious as
ever. But I loved the "Films" and keep going back to it. The Real Glenn
Gould? Who knows?

By the way, my favorite video is "On the Record/Off the Record", it shows GG
at work and play. It's much less orchestrated then his CBC Television
appearances - showing him as a musician, rather than as the musicologist he
seemed to insist on being seen as later in life.
