The non-profit INTERKULTUR Foundation, in co-operation with the Austrian Singers Association and the Austrian Arbeitersaengerbund, is organising the 1st CHOIR OLYMPICS 2000 in Linz, Austria, 7 to 16 July 2000.

The CHOIR OLYMPICS will unite approximately 25.000 singers of all vocal formations, and base, amateur and semi-professional choirs of all kinds. About 70 high-ranking international choral experts will judge the performances of the participants. Eric Ericson (Sweden), will be one of the Artistic Honorary Presidents of the CHOIR OLYMPICS.

The competition of the CHOIR OLYMPICS will be organised in 28 different categories. Besides this, the CHOIR OLYMPICS will include an amazing framework programme with hundreds of events: Olympic Opening and Concluding event, honouring of the Olympic champions, open-air concerts, workshops, gala and friendship concerts in Upper Austria, the Parade of the Choirs and joint singing.

CHOROLYMPIADE 2000 - Stimmen der Welt

Der Förderverein INTERKULTUR e.V führt gemeinsam mit dem Österreichischen Sängerbund und dem Arbeitersängerbund Österreich vom 7. - 16. Juli 2000 die 1. CHOROLYMPIADE 2000 in Linz durch. 

Diese CHOROLYMPIADE vereint etwa 25.000 Sängerinnen und Sänger alle möglichen Chorformationen und Besetzungsformen, ebenso wie Basischöre, Amateurchöre und semiprofessionelle Chöre jeglicher Art. Neben etwa 70 international hochkarätigen Juroren wird Prof. Eric Ericson (Schweden) als einer der Künstlerischen Ehrenpräsidenten fungieren.

Die CHOROLYMPIADE 2000 in Linz wird Wettbewerbe in 28 Kategorien umfassen. Darüber hinaus wird die CHOROLYMPIADE 2000 ein großes Fest für Chöre mit hunderten von Veranstaltungen sein, so z.B.: Eröffungs- und Abschlußfeier, Siegerzeremonien, Open Air- und Gala- und Begegnungskonzerte, Workshops, Chorparade, Gemeinsames Singen.
