GG: new releases

Hi Neil & others:

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I needed to check with some folks to make sure it was okay to "leak" this information.

In the Fall of 1998, Sony plans to re-release Glenn Gould's Silver Jubilee album.  This was originally a limited-edition title in the English markets, and it's currently only available in Japan.  All of the original material (musical performances as well as "A Glenn Gould Fantasy") will be there, along with some added, as yet unconfirmed material.  I was able to purchase a copy through Junichi, and for those of you who haven't heard it yet, especially Gould's "Hysteric Return" (GG's send-up of Vladimir Horowitz' "Historic Return"), complete with seals clapping, you're in for a real treat.

Also this fall ... (hope no one minds if I mention this on the list) you can look forward to seeing DNA Productions, Inc's Glenn Gould: A Private Quartet.  This is the first widely-available interactive multimedia production on Glenn Gould, which has had a helping hand from Mary Jo, Kevin Bazzana, the Gould Estate, Sony Classical and CBC Radio, as well as lots of others.  We plan to launch it in Toronto on the 25th of September.

If you're interested, please let me know & I'll keep you posted as our project (in production as I write this) progresses.

Any news on what Sony may be offering in the next batch of GG CDs. ?

What are the latest CBC issues like ? I'm very tempted by the Beethoven op 101 -
someone said it was wonderful.
