The Glenn Gould Foundation Announces
THE YEAR OF GLENN  GOULD
SEPTEMBER 2007-SEPTEMBER 2008
Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Glenn Gould?s Birth
and Marking the 25th Anniversary of his Death


Toronto (October 20, 2006)-The Glenn Gould Foundation is pleased to  
announce the upcoming launch of the Year of Glenn Gould (September  
2007-September 2008) with exciting events in Toronto and Ottawa,  
Ontario.

The year-long Gould extravaganza will begin with Sincerely, Glenn  
Gould, the largest-ever exhibition about Glenn Gould, to be held at the  
Canadian Museum of Civilization, Ottawa, Ontario (September 27,  
2007-September 1, 2008).

In conjunction with the exhibition, the Glenn Gould Foundation will  
hold the 3rd Glenn Gould Gathering, Ahead of Our Time? Glenn Gould and  
the Future of Music (September 27-30, 2007), a conference at the  
Canadian Museum of Civilization, Ottawa, Ontario.

In February 2008, the Glenn Gould Foundation will announce the winners  
of the prestigious Glenn Gould Prize and the City of Toronto Glenn  
Gould Prot?ég?é Prize. Previous Glenn Gould Laureates include such  
illustrious names as Yehudi Menuhin, Oscar Peterson, Yo-Yo Ma, Pierre  
Boulez, and, Sir Andr?é Previn. The hand-picked Prot?ég?és chosen by the  
Laureates include the highly talented Benny Green, Tan Dun, Wu Man,  
Jean-Guihen Queyras, and Roman Patkol?ó.

This extraordinary celebration of Glenn Gould will culminate in  
September 2008 with the Glenn Gould Prize Gala Concert, featuring  
performances by both the 2008 Glenn Gould Laureate and the City of  
Toronto Glenn Gould Prot?ég?é.

Many other international and local events to celebrate the music and
ideas of this legendary musician, communicator, and thinker are
currently underway. Details on all these events, as well as
late-breaking developments in the Year of Glenn Gould, will be posted on
the Glenn Gould Foundation's web site, www.glenngould.ca, as soon as
