GG: other mostly-recording artists?

Does anyone happen to know of other musicians who are solely or
primarily recording artists, as GG was?

I haven't come across any, not that I'm especially in the loop on such
things.  I have the impression that most classical artists make
recordings in support of tours instead of the other way around ... But
probably I'm just confused?  (Pop artists, on the other hand, seem to
tour in support of new records.  Hmm.)
