I read about this society in one of the Glenn Gould
biographies. It is not in a book I have. It must of been a library
book. I am not sure, but I think this was a small group he formed with his
childhood friend Robert Fulford.
I found something else on this topic in "Music & Mind"
by Geoffrey Payzant. From page 7:
"He wrote a set of piano pieces when he was sixteen; they
were intended to be incidental music to Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. He
played them during the intermission of a performance of that play at Malvern
Collegiate Institute. The pieces were titled: "Regal Atmosphere,"
"Elizabethan Gaiety," "Whimsical Nonsense," and "Nocturne."

Selected Letters" that He was producer in " Lower Rosedale Shakespeare Reading
Society"
(Letter dated January 27 1960 wrote to Edith
Boeker).
Gould was also "Technician Director"and
reader in this Society founded by himself
Could you tell me
more about the relationship between Gould and Shakespeare and this
Society?
