My _expression_ "X-Ray" is absolutely not a criticism about the piece.On the contrary is a praise!
I like much the later Gould, I like the whole Gould and this _expression_ is,for me, synonym of piece played  analytically, with clarity and extreme precision as only Gould done.

The term “X-Ray” seems spot on with regards to the ’81 version
