Yup, hard to tell in English - by high notes I meant "a1, b1, c2, d2, c2, b1,
a1" fragment in the last but one fragment of the double fugue and Gould plays
those high notes. In the score I have there are no such high notes in that bar
(the highest being f) So the whole ending is less agitated, not "going up".

But if you say there are 9 sources for this same piece, then it's apparently
impossible to tell which is closest to the Bach's original.
