GOULD-L : Glenn Gould discussion list

GOULD-L is an electronic mailing list intended to foster
communications among researchers and fans of the great
Canadian classical pianist Glenn Gould.  The goals in
establishing this list are:

* to facilitate discussion and the exchange of information
  about Gould's life, ideas and artistic accomplishments;

* to provide a forum for regular communications about the
  use and contents of the Glenn Gould archive held by the
  National Library of Canada.

List participants are encouraged to use the list to:

* disseminate information and to make enquiries about Glenn Gould;
* discuss Glenn Gould's artistic achievements, vision and ideas;
* provide specific information on Gould-related recordings, events
  and publications, and on activities of potential interest to
  Gould scholars and fans.


This list will be lightly moderated to remove spurious messages,
=93spams=94 and errors.

Suggestions from list participants on how best to use this list are =

welcome.
Mailing list archives will be available.

Neither the list moderators nor the National Library of Canada
are responsible for the content of messages to the Gould list.

LISTSERV commands

GOULD-L uses a UNIX-based LISTSERV software. Information about advanced
commands for LISTSERV can be retrieved by sending the following message =

listserv@infoserv.nlc-bnc.ca

     INFO REFCARD

NB:  All commands to LISTSERV should be in the body of the message, and =

not in the
subject field.

Common LISTSERV commands and their use are listed below:

SIGNOFF GOULD-L
     to remove your name from the list

INFO GOULD-L
     to obtain a copy of the GOULD-L welcome message

SET GOULD-L NOMAIL
     this will stop sending you GOULD-L postings until your reset your =

status - please use
this when you go on holidays or will not be reading your email regularly.

SET GOULD-L MAIL
     this will reset your status and allow you to begin receiving =

messages from the list
taking email regularly.

SET GOULD-L DIGEST
     to receive approximately one message per day that contains all the =

daily postings to
GOULD-L

SET GOULD-L REPRO
     to get copies of all messages that you post to GOULD-L

SET GOULD-L NOREPRO
     to NOT receive copies of what you post to GOULD-L (this is the =

default)

INDEX GOULD-L
     to obtain an index of what has been posted to GOULD-L
