GG: Gibbons...more

For anyone else on the list who, like me, has been following the GG/Gibbons
thread with interest and wants to know more about what GG heard in this
English composer, you may like to know that the budget classical label,
Naxos, which retails in England for L4.99 (and a pretty similar dollar
price in the US) has just released:

Choral & Organ Music of Orlando Gibbons
The Oxford Camerata/Jeremy Summerly
Laurence Cummings, organ
Naxos 8.553130

Although originally issued in April or May 1996, this disk has just been
chosen as and "Editor's Choice" by the influential GRAMOPHONE magazine.

CLASSICAL CD, another BBC music mag, reviewing the disk in the present
(Sept) issue, called the Oxford Camerata "one of the jewels in Naxos's
crown".

I haven't even broken the seal off mine yet, but plan to do so later this
evening.
