Re: [F_minor] GG in Simpsons?
Hello Markus and list
I remember at least one reference in a Simpsons episode. The plot of the
story is that Homer is found to be quite intelligent after a pen that had
been stuck up his nose and blocked his brain has been removed. Very strange,
unhomerian things happen in the Simpsons household after that. The GG
reference in this episode can be seen here

Another reference, if you can call it that, is the title of one episode. 32
Short Stories about Springfield, but apart from that no reference to Gould.
Since I dont watch TV anymore I cannot tell you if there are any other GG
references in the Simpsons, but I am sure some list members would have
noticed.
A comedy / satire show from Canada called Royal Canadian Air Farce also has
this bit on GG. The skit is called "Unmoved by his audience", nice pun for
GG affictionados.

Other references of GG in pop culture are quite rare, but I will continue
to think about that this afternoon

Subject: [F_minor] GG in Simpsons?
Hello everyone,
I am happy to see the list again more alive than in the past few months.
I am doing research on GG's public reception in pop culture, and am
curious about most unexpectable places where he pops up (no pun
intended).
I have a vague recollection of having seen a GG-allusion in one of the
Simpsons-episodes. Anyone remember more about this? Are there any other
good examples of GG in pop culture? I know already the Silence of the
Lambs and Hannibal. (BTW, in the third sequel to Hannibal trilogy, "The
Young Hannibal", we learn why Goldberg Variations, played by GG, is such
an important musical work for Hannibal)
Best regards,
Markus Mantere
