To my mind, the usage of "romantic" with regards to music must be connected
closely with the term "Romaticism": it is usually agreed that it started with
Beethoven (who is sitting on the two chairs - Classical and Romantic). Wouldn't
it be handy to have this kind of agreement? :) Otherwise "romantic" is really
too vague - I bet there was romantic music back in Ancient Egypt.

As to GG it's fine by me to regard him as a pianist who was not specialising in
Romantic music. ;)
