Re: schnabel
You could try out Musical Observations CP2 102 (1991) where Paul
Zukofsky (violin) and Ursula Oppens (piano) play Artur Schnabel's
Sonata for Violin & Piano (1935).

This is a bit offtopic but I just found out that one of Gould's heroes,
Artur Schnabel, was also a sometime composer of atonal music that he didn't
perform (not unlike Gould himself.)
Anybody every heard these compositions and perhaps can make a recommendation
on the recordings of them?
Thanks,
Jim (who has been much impressed with Schnabel's version of Beethoven's
Waldstein sonata and the extreme tempos therein remind him of Gould)
