GG: misc.

        Three recommendations:

        (1) Goldbergs (Christine Schornsheim, hpsi -- Capriccio label) --
lively, joyous, beautiful hpsi sound;

        (2) Schnabel plays Bach (incl. c minor and D major toccatas, Ital.
Cto., others, on EMI) -- great and sui generis (like our hero's Bach);
listen to the 1st mvmt of the Italian and you will have no doubt of
Schnabel's influence on GG , and

        (3) Inventions and Sinfonias (Yvgeni Koroliov on Hanssler) -- the
Russian school at it's best, but why are the Russian school guys always
recorded with a reverberant acoustic (cf. Richter WTC, Schepkin WTC)?

        BTW -- here's a suggestion for putting to rest all debates about
what's "off topic;" if you can demonstrate that there are no more than 6
degrees of separation between GG and your topic, then it's OK. For this
purpose, Bach should be considered in the same degree as GG, because they
are so closely associated. For example, each of my recommendations is within
1 degree of separation) -- Bach (= GG) to (1) Koroliov, etc. Peter Max is
three degrees away -- GG to (1) Petulia Clark to (2) '60s "Mod" scene to
(3) Peter Max posters.

        What do you think?

        Regards --
