Actually, there's a small town in Maine called Poland.

In fact the whole Lakes region west of Portland is littered
with tiny towns named after famous cities and nations of other continents;
there's a famous roadsign often shown on postcards that points to, among
other nearby towns, Naples, Denmark, Paris, Peru, Mexico, Madrid, Carthage,
Lisbon and Norway.
