Gould documentary
Hello all!
Has anyone seen or heard of a Gould documentary called "The Gould
Variations" from 1992. It is directed by Manuel Huerga and the narrator
is none other than the pianist Zoltan Kocsis.
Here's a few lines from the press release material of the film:
"The film is editied and mixed in a style that matches Gould's own
rigorous musical interpretations. The use of computer generated graphics
gives a visual equivalent to the non-expressive[sic], seemingly
superhuman precision of his playing. The film concludes with reference
to Gould's much publicized (and quite genuine) admiration for Petula
Clark and to the NASA Voyager disc with its recordings of whales and
Bach (by Gould) for possible interstellar consumption."
I'm particular interested to get more information on the so called
"computer generated graphics".
