Mary Jo - you were in Montreal this weekend and you didn't tell me? Shame 
on you!!!

I know the book you're referring to - I worked at a children's bookstore 
when it was released and managed to be on hand when Tim Wynne-Jones came 
through on his promotional tour. Wonderful man - and a deeply moving book. 
I read it two Christmasses ago and couldn't put it down. I ended up with 
a signed copy. Yes, the Maestro is too like Glenn Gould to be mistaken 
for anyone else - odd that Wynne-Jones didn't credit him anywhere. 
Usually there's an acknowledgement somewhere about how a character is 
based loosely on an historical figure, etc - but not here. Strange.

I highly recommend the book. It's very powerful, and not just the
Gould-like musician bits, either. It deservedly won the Governor General's
award - Canada's highest literary honour. Dig up a copy, if only for to 
chuckle at the Gouldisms so accurately portrayed. You can tell 
Wynne-Jones liked Gould.
