GG thoughts on Oct.4

On this anniversary of Gould's passing on Oct.4, 1982, I would like to solicit
recollections of how people reacted to the news, how we were affected by
the event. The composer of the piece "In Memoriam Glenn Gould" had a touching
story of how she secluded herself with her favorite GG recordings and 
eventually composed her piece as a tribute, weaving some of the melodies from
these (mostly Bach) pieces into her score (one was the allemande from French
Suite No. 5). My own case is somewhat ironic because Oct.4 is my birthday,
and in 1982 I was 16, as yet unaware of Gould except through the "Slaugher-
house Five" soundtrack.
