I have a Masterworks Portrait cassette tape of this 1960-62 production.
Your description of #24 is correct, but #22 is given on the sparse cover
notes as Lhevinne/Juilliard Orchestra/Jean Morel; no mention of GG. The
cassette number, if that's what it is, is 40-60276. The cover says that
liner notes are included but I must have lost them.

I have two 'The Young Glenn Gould' tapes by VOX-TURNABOUT (Moss Music
Group, Inc., NY) of very early recordings made of GG and Alberto
Guerrero. They were a serendipitous find in a Kowloon record shop that
specialised in dross but occasionally lapsed into culture.

The first, KC 334 792, dates from 1951-53 and has Berg (Sonata #1),
Shostakovich (3 Fantastic Dances), Taneyev (Birth of the Harp) and
Prokofiev (Winter Fairy from 'Cinderella'). All feature GG, and the last
also has Albert Pratz on violin. Total tape playing time is about 23
minutes

The second, KC 334 793, has the Mozart 4-hand stuff you mention (Allegro
from K521, Andante + 5 Vars K501, Allegro di molto from K497) on side
one; on side two is another 4-hander (Fantasy No. 1, K594) played by the
two of them, and JSB's Italian Concerto but played by Guerrero, not
Gould. To my mind, that's a bit of a con, especially as the total playing
time for the tape is only about 33 minutes and the recordings date from
the 1940s and are excruciating as to quality. Still, I seem to remember
picking both tapes up for a song because the shop owner recognised the
fact that 99.9% of his customers wouldn't even know who the old Glenn
Gould was, let alone the young one, so I'm not complaining. But if what's
on the tapes is transferred to CD, caveat emptor.

Tim
