The odd liner notes of Gould's performance of Liszt's piano transcription
of Beethoven's 5th Symphony reprints a review from a socialist workers'
publication which excoriates Gould for the selfish, heartless, greedy
capitalist's act of putting 50 professional musicians out of work. The
reviewer never even gets around to expressing an opinion about Gould's
peformance.

Another review was reprinted from a psychiatric journal from the Dakotas.
The psychiatrist-reviewer focused on what he perceived as a clear clinical
symptom of megalomania.

GG clearly cherished these reviews and delighted in rescuing them from
obscurity.
