One of the most admired Gouldians,
the author of _Glenn Gould, Music and Mind_
passed away.

Geoffrey Payzant
Born March 7, 1926, in Halifax,
died in Toronto on August 31, 2004,
after a long illness, bravely borne.
Professor of Philosophy (emeritus), University of Toronto,
B.A. (Dalhousie), M.A., Ph.D.(U. of T.), LLD Honoris Causa
(Mount Allison University), L.R.S.M. He is survived
by his loving family, his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou; [...]
Teacher, musician, author, flyer, sailor, storyteller,
Geoffrey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
A memorial gathering in Toronto to be announced at a later date.
Interment to take place in Nova Scotia.
