p.s. In the first two movements of this, there are cases where the left
hand needs to play a note that the right hand is already holding.
Consequently, it's easier (and sounds better) when played on two manuals
so the right-hand melody can be sustained. But, you'll find a way to fake
it if playing it on piano!
The third movement is so much like the two-part invention in the same key
(D minor, BWV 775)...there's clearly a "family resemblance" there.
You might find (as I do) that you enjoy playing some of the other
concertos more than this one. It's worth playing through all of them.
Young Bach wrote 16 of these for solo keyboard, arranged from various
composers, and it's fun to see him coming up with his perky textures and
elaborations. Plus there are another half dozen with pedal. His
arrangements from Vivaldi tend to get the most attention.
