The book by Peter Ostwald mentions that there were indeed ladies in Gould's
life,  some rather briefly, although the author is careful not to mention
any names.  He drops hints, though.  ( I believe this is maybe because one
or two of them had been named elsewhere)
Ostwald also states however that none of these liaisons endured very long,
in his opinion  because it would be extremely  difficult for any woman to
relate to someone as intensely egocentric as Gould. ( I believe that he uses
this word to indicate Goulds total immersion in his own work, not his
selfishness.)
I have said elsewhere that I am not sure how accurate Ostwald's book is; so
maybe the above is just speculation on his part.  Glenn Gould himself would
be more than happy to know that the subject of his possible lovers will
forever remain a mystery!
