When I told a newspaper
colleague that I had the musical version of The Tibetan Book of the Dead -- an
electronic realisation called "le Voyage" by Pierre Henri -- he asked
to borrow it. He put it on his dad's big fancy console stereo in the basement
rec room when he got home that night.
The next evening when he came home, the
stereo was missing. During the day, his father had seen the LP on the stereo,
and had turned it on. He promptly turned it off and hauled the console stereo to
the repair shop.
