I'm no expert on Karaoke, but it's possible to do a version of a song called
a "mix-minus". This has all of the tracks from the original (or newly created
versions of these) but no lead vocal. There are also boxes that attempt to remove
center image vocals through selective EQ and phase manipulations or, more
recently, DSP techniques based on similar ideas.
