Sorry if my previous message appeared to do so; if so it's not my
intention.  I in fact have high respects for jazz and its practioners. 
While I'm an amateur pianist with initial training in the "classical" 
tradition, I've been trying to learn the jazz idiom.  I've attended much
live jazz performances in my home city (Vancouver, BC).  The joy evidenced
both in the playing and on the players' faces suggests to me that it's
perhaps even more fun to play jazz than to listen to it.
