Because dklein asked to be removed from the list, I have honored his
request.  If he chooses to return, he's welcome to do so but I have made
a small request of him and I will make it of all list members in
general.

Please keep posts and replies to emails of substance for the next week
or so rather than several (witty? delightful? annoying?) shorter
replies.  There seems to be an amazing number of servers down at the
moment and today's banter has cost me about two hours of cleanup time
and about 400 email messages in my box to sort through.  I'm not asking
that people not post, or reply, but please consider if your posts will
be of interest to the majority and if they will contribute to good
conversation.  

As always, divergent opinions are welcome if expressed in civil
conversations.
