A technique exists known as 'biaurnal' or 360 degree sound....anyone
ever heard about it?
Years ago, I remember going to Science North, a science centre in Sudbury, Ont. There, there was a 'show' kind of thing, tucked away in a corner on the upper level. The basis of this was to experience some specific sound technology. The audience would come in and put on special headphones. Then, through the show, the sound was produced, and, it sounded like it was coming from different locations in the room. You could actually *tell* that someone was speaking to you from behind you and to the left, or that, say, perhaps, Glenn Gould was playing the piano 50 metres in front of you, and slightly over to the right. It was a pretty neat experience.
Does anyone know anything about this?
