To fully appreciate this question, try and get a copy of the video 
"Glenn Gould: A Portrait."  He attempts to sing to a herd of elephants 
at the zoo.  The elephants' reaction to this is all one needs to see 
to fully judge GGs vocal abilities.  ;-)
