Re: [F_minor] Glenn Gould movies

I'm likewise a newcomer to the list (though a lifelong fan of GG; my mother
owned an LP of his first Goldberg variations recording, and I used to listen
to it over and over again as a kid...). I'm currently a college student at
the University of Chicago, where I'm studying neuroscience.

A propos of Fred's mention of free-scores.com, another place one can
download free sheet music is the mutopia project:
http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ This is a user-run project to put public
domain music on the web (somewhat similar to the Gutenberg Project for
literature). They are particularly strong on Bach -- they have, among other
things, the Goldberg Variations, much of the WTC, French Suites 3 & 5,
English Suite 1, and the Inventions & Sinfonias. The scores are all written
and compiled with the free GNU LilyPond notation software (
http://lilypond.org/web/), so if you know how to use Lilypond and have spare
time, you can contribute. (I'm currently working on a score for the Bach's D
Minor piano concerto.)

BTW, I've made a youtube playlist of some of my favorite Gould videos
(mostly performances/recordings, but there are also some interviews and
miscellany mixed in). It's here:
