CBC's offering all three together for $40, which is money well spent!  I bought a copy a year or so ago, and I give them a spin every now & again.  I'm a bit unconvinced that the layering of the voices really qualifies as 'fugal' but whatever you call it, the upshot is that you get a subtly different experience each time you listen to them.

I find myself straining at first to try to hear & understand exactly what each voice is saying, but as I settle into them I begin to feel that I'm hearing the voices simultaneously -- which is really a rather remarkable experience... not unlike a 'magic eye' for the ears, maybe!  The Idea of North is still my favourite.

Yeah, I hear the winter in Canada has been generally snow-less and (therefore) miserable.  Might as well be n England!

Welcome to my town.  It has actually been one of the warmest winters we've ever seen and the cold you experienced has been very little so far.

I wanted to ask the group something as I so rarely hear anyone speak of it.  Years ago I fell in love with Glenn's radio documentary stuff; the trilogy he did for CBC radio.  I have yet to purchase it on the market as it is still quite expensive but I promise myself that one day I will.

Does anyone have any views on those recordings?
