Stratford would have been a PERFECT escape from a Toronto plague! We've been
twice, and besides the wonderful theater, there's a fierce gourmet chef
competition at dozens of suberb local restaurants -- every meal a winner.
The riverside park is gorgeous. Stratford is a real winner, and they stretch
the Festival season to last through most of the year. It's about two hours
west of Toronto by car.

perhaps he could have found a hospitable location in stratford,
ontario...bucolic, with fine recording facilities; i'm sure they could fine
an adequate piano...wasn't he musical director at the stratford festival for
a few years in the mid-late 60s?
