Idyll "
Thanks for your post and your
suggestion!
I have both the books "Glenn Gould Piano
solo" by Michel Schneider and "The Loser" by Bernhard.
In "Glenn Gould Piano Solo" we can have a
deep Gould's portrait.
In this emotional book the
Gould's artistic soul to rise for us during the flow of His life in many
nuances.
(Do you know if the Schneider's
book have the English translation? I believe that there isn't
!)
In the romance "The Loser" Gould is the symbol
of the genius against the mediocrity.
Both the Books are a beautiful homage on
behalf of Gould.

I read your e-mail you sent to F Minor
diostribution list.
There is something in Glenn Gould and its

Casals, Pavarotti, etc.). ONly Gould causes a deep impact and a
Please red the essay of Michael Schneider
(Glenn Gould, piano solo) and the novel of Thomas Bernhard (Der Untergeher
-I don't know the title in english!)... You will find in there some
interesting thougts and explanations that according to the feeling
you have with "Siegfrid Idyll" in Gould's version.
I found your analogy of listening
the piece at "x-rays" marvelous. It is exactely the same I experienced
by listening this piece.
Regards.
