There are my impressions in seeing and in
listening Gould's interpretation of Contrapunctus 1 in the "Two
portraits-off record" performance 1959 and in the CBC recording
1981.
1959:The young Gould was extremely inspired: he
flowed in the notes with passion and his body had a vibration. His life was
open.
1981 :The late Gould was extremely
concentrate: his approach at the piece was crystal-clear and his body was
crouching on the piano. His life was at the end
Also these performances, like the Goldberg, are a
Gould's testament, in the course of His life.
I'm moving by this.
What's your impression about this
matter?
Best at everyone
