Oh that's a funny phrase.  I've never heard it before.  Did you
put it in quotes because someone else said it?

And speaking of conductors what about Boulez for transparency?  I think his
two disc set
of Schoenberg's Chorus music is quite an accomplishment
along with his Webern.  I like to think Gould would have had a fondness for
those discs.
