Re: CD 318
Success:
Steinway & Sons
1 Steinway Place
Long Island City, NY 11105
(800) 366-1853
By calling their number and talking to three helpful people I found out that
C stands for Concert Division
D stands for the Model number (not division)
As in there are model CLs and CMs even CBs.
They come out of the factory with regular serial numbers and according to
the people on the phone only acquire CD numbers when an artist picks them
out. I could tell they were a bit unsure about these and getting tired of
my questions so I just said goodbye at this point, but I'm still left
wondering if 317,194 went to Eatons on loan right out of the factory,
doesn't it make sense to call it a concert division model D, as in CD 318?
bye
