	Pianistically, Gould was a genius.  As a man, he was a truly pathetic
bundle of neuroses, and thus another great addition to the
connection-of-madness-with-genius debate.  One of the wonderful things
about art is that it can be enhanced by its creators' abnormalites; you
couldn't say the same thing about the profession of surgery, say, or of
air traffic control.
