RE: The Young Glenn Gould-1947 to 1953 on CD.
Charlie and all,
This might have been mentioned and discussed before, but
I am wondering the recording data of the *Italian Concerto*
in "The Young Glenn Gould-1947 to 1953"
(MASTERSOUND DFCDI-024).
According to the credit of the Mastersound disc, it was
"rec. March 1948, Toronto, Canada."
The recording is supposed to have been performed by GG.
However, when the disc was released by Fanfare
(DFCD-9032, rel. 1987), the Italian Concerto was
credited as being performed by his teacher Guerrero
and "rec. *1947*"(not 48). When the disc was first released as
a LP just after GG's death from the Fanfare too, and it was also
credited as by Guerrero.
I wonder which is correct: by GG or his teacher?
Judging with *my* ears, it sounds by Guerrero.
Any comments?
Regards,
