GG: Another Dream

While the space dream is quite prophetic, I also find the recurring 
"nightmare" if you will which GG describes in "Off the Record" very 
telling of his personality.

GG is responding to the question why he doesn't like to do live 
performances (the documentary was made in 1959 when he was still doing 
live performances).  He said he is in the cottage on Lake Simcoe and 
he wakes up and looks out the window.  It is the end of his summer 
vacation, just before he is to return to school.  Instead of seeing 
grass and leaves and trees, he sees nothing but rock surrounding the 
cottage. He explains that it is the lack of control over his own 
schedule (much the same as when one returns to school) which disturbs 
him so.

For some reason, I find this dream just as amazing as the space dream.
