It sounds to me as if this is a CD player problem rather than a CD problem. My very same 1981 Masterworks edition registers the 32 variations. Granted they are not listed on the liner notes. But they are there. Interestingly, the final Aria is almost a full 30 seconds longer than the first! Lori Lalonde
