Tim, listen to Var. 26 (cut N0.27) in the 1982 Goldberg Variations to put
your mind at rest. No, his technique was no more an issue for him at 50
then it was at 20. Gould's technique was never in the fingers but in the
mind, and his mind like good wine got better and better with age.
